Introducing 16 Seymour Road

16 Seymour Road stands in the Southfields Grid, the ordered run of late-Victorian streets that sits between Wandsworth and Wimbledon Park. It is a settled residential address, a few minutes on foot from Southfields station and the shops along Replingham Road, with the open space of Wimbledon Park close at hand.

Shopping

Day to day shopping in Southfields runs along two parades. Replingham Road covers the essentials, from the greengrocer and independent shops to a run of small restaurants, while Wimbledon Park Road adds Gail's Bakery at number 250 and a cluster of coffee stops near the station. For a bigger weekly shop, Wimbledon town centre is a few minutes down the District line and Southside shopping centre in Wandsworth is a short drive north. The Grid, the network of late-Victorian streets that gives Southfields its character, keeps everything within an easy walk, so most errands are done on foot rather than in the car.

Eateries

The eating out here is unpretentious and properly local. The Old Fields on Replingham Road is the neighbourhood pub of choice, and the same road holds a run of independents, from Sen Yai to Diyana's Persian Grill, alongside smaller cafés. Wimbledon Park Road adds Gail's Bakery and Dropshot Coffee for weekend mornings. When the occasion calls for something more, the restaurants of Wimbledon Village and the riverside spots at Putney are both only a few minutes away.

Culture

Green space defines this corner of SW18. Wimbledon Park, with its lake, watersports centre, athletics track and tennis courts, sits minutes from the front door, and a short walk down Wimbledon Park Road reaches the All England Lawn Tennis Club, home of the Championships each summer. King George's Park runs north along the River Wandle towards Wandsworth, with the Wandle Trail for walking and cycling, while Wandsworth Common and its open playing fields lie a little further east. In Wimbledon, the New Wimbledon Theatre and the Polka add evenings out within easy reach.

Transport

Southfields station is the anchor, a short walk away and on the District line in zone 3. Trains run one way towards Wimbledon and the other through Earl's Court to South Kensington, Sloane Square and Victoria in around half an hour, and it is the station the crowds use for Wimbledon each summer. East Putney, also on the District line, is a short walk in the other direction. For faster mainline services, Putney station is under a mile away with quick trains to Clapham Junction and Waterloo. The 39 and 493 buses, along with services on Merton Road, fill in local journeys.
